当科の眞田医長と今井専攻医が2025年11月6~9日にヒューストンで開催された米国腎臓学会でそれぞれポスター発表を行いました。
センター紹介(含スタッフ構成)
腎臓疾患臨床研究センターは1971年に現在のJCHO仙台病院の前進、仙台社会保険病院に設立されました。当初は血液透析の普及が主たる業務でしたが、徐々に腎臓疾患全般を扱う施設に変貌を遂げ、1990~2000年代に診療実績のみならず学術論文の発信を積極的に行い発展しました。設立50周年となる2021年に病院新築に伴い当地に移転し現在に至っております。
“現状に満足することなくよりよい診療を“が当科の設立以来の理念であり、それが”糖尿病性腎症に対するACE阻害剤の効果“や”寛解を治療目標としたIgA腎症に対する扁桃摘出術+ステロイドパルス療法の効果“など、それまでの常識の改変に繋がってきました。ガイドライン全盛の時代となりましたが、現状のエビデンスを尊重しつつも決して満足することなく、問題意識をもって一人ひとりの患者さんに向き合うことで、未来の腎疾患診療を切り拓いていけるよう診療にあたっております。

~Introduction to a Kidney Center, JCHO Sendai Hospital~
A Center was founded in 1971 as the predecessor of today’s JCHO Sendai Hospital, originally established as Sendai Shakaihoken Hospital. In its early years, the center’s primary mission was to promote hemodialysis, but over time it evolved into a comprehensive facility dedicated to kidney diseases. During the 1990s and 2000s, the center expanded not only its clinical achievements but also its contributions to academic publications. In 2021, marking the 50th anniversary of its founding, the center relocated to its current site in conjunction with the construction of a new hospital building
Since its establishment, our guiding philosophy has been “Never be satisfied with the present, always strive for better care.” This principle has driven us to challenge conventional wisdom, leading to groundbreaking findings such as the effectiveness of ACE inhibitors in diabetic nephropathy and the benefits of tonsillectomy combined with steroid pulse therapy for IgA nephropathy, with remission as the therapeutic goal. Even in today’s era of guideline-based medicine, we continue to respect current evidence while refusing complacency. By maintaining a critical perspective and engaging sincerely with each patient, we are committed to pioneering the future of kidney disease treatment
